Sahara Challenge "The Children Of Oulaid Driss"
It is estimated that, worldwide, 110 million school-age children do not attend primary school or have an opportunity to attend school. Of these, more than 60 million are girls and children especially in areas of prevalent class systems. Just as the rich the poor boys and men, girls and women need to read, write and count in order to make their lives and find answers to questions that concern their communities and their country.
Research shows convincingly that, of all investment in the developing world, programs for education especially for girls are the most effective.
We were lucky last year to be involved in an initiative to help work in a girls school and work in a classroom with young children in Morocco. The experience, having the opportunity to live in the village and working in the community made a bigger impact in our lives then anything we did in Morocco. We hope to build on what we learnt and provide greater opportunities for education in marginalized communities in the future..
Our goal is to support each year, at least two major education projects in developing countries with high rates of illiteracy. Our focus is on areas with high rates of income and social disparity due to education.
